VCN- Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch (under Quang Tri Customs Department) issued a decision to impose fines worth VND15 million on Phi Long Company for hiding more than 24 tonnes of coal inside exported wood chips.

Some 24,020 kg of commercial coal and non-classified coal of type 1 under Appendix D-TCVN 8910: 2015 have been seized by the branch.
Lao Bao International Border Gate inspected a trailer with License Plate No. 74C08859+74R00315 transporting goods under declaration No.303888491820 dated April 5, 2021 of the Branch of Phi Long General Company Limited (address at Ward 2, Quang Tri Town, Quang Tri Province) on April 11.

The goods were declared by the firm as exported melaleuca wood chips.
However, the Customs detected more than 24 tonnes of coal hidden inside melaleuca wood chips.
According to inspection results from Vinacontrol, these goods are commercial coal and non classify coal of type 1, worth more than VND37 million.
